History of Mukesh Mills
Earlier, it was known as (Mukesh Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd.) which was established by Muljibhai Madhvani, the owner of (East African Hardware Ltd.) The mill was built in the 1870's and it was the only mill in South Bombay (Mumbai) at that time. The mill had it's own private dock where a lot of cotton, and finished cloth used to be unloaded and stored. And then it was exported to many countries. (Some says that the mill was set up by the Britishers and it was not owned by the Muljibhai Madhvani but no one knows the truth till now.)
The mill was renovated in the year 1975, but after some years it went out of business. After one year of the mill strike the owner decided to close the mills and submitted an official closure but it was denied by the government for some reasons. Later in the year 1982, the mill caught fire and the cause of fire is still a mystery for everyone. The mill was permanently closed after the fire and mill strike.
Current Status of Mukesh Mills
The 10 acre property Mukesh Mills is now owned by Vikas Agrawal (Agrawal Family). He thought to make this mill a commercial place and also submitted some plans to make this mill a residential place or commercial place. But as per the Defence officials the land belongs to the Navy. So, the project has been stopped and the mill is now used for the shooting of bollywood movies and tv serials.
Hit Movies filmed at Mukesh Mills
1:- One of the famous movie "Hum" song "Jumma Chumma De De" (starrer Amitabh Bachchan) was shot at Mukesh Mills.
2:- One of the scene of "Wanted" movie (starrer Salman Khan) was also shot at Mukesh Mills.
3:- The debut film of Tiger shroff and Kriti Sanon "Heropanti" song "Whistle Baja" was also shot at Mukesh Mills.
4:- The film Luka Chupi (starrer Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon) song "Poster Lagwa Do" song was also shot at Mukesh Mills.
How Mukesh Mills become a Haunted Place?
Some says that when Mukesh Mills caught fired at that time some workers were working inside the mill and died due to the fire. And now the spirits of those man roam there and do not allow people to enter or stay in the building. The place became more haunted when most of the celebrities confirmed that they felt some spirits over there during the shoots. And many more Incidents occured which forced people to believe that paranormal activities occur in Mukesh Mills.
Horror Incidents took place in Mukesh Mills
1:- During the shoot of some tv serial the director , the actress and some crew members heard many unusual voices which made them do packup.
2:- During the shoot of hum song Amitabh Bachchan also felt someone unusual moments like someone continously staring him
3:- During the shoot of a film the leading actress suddenly started screaming and warned all the crew members to leave the place immediately in a manly voice. It is believed that an angry spirit entered in her body.
4;- Once, the watchman of Mukesh Mills heard some singing sounds in night and saw someone standing inside the building and roaming but as he was scared he did not went inside the mill. Next morning he went to check if someone would be locked mistakenly during the shoots. But no one was there inside he mill.
5:- During the shoot, one small girl of around 10 years started behaving very strangely, she did very unsual acts like rolling on the ground with her hands turned backward side and started screaming in a very terrific way but after some time she fainted and was taken to hospital.
All the members whoever was present in these incidents mentioned above, decided to leave the place for forever and not to come over that place again for any kind of shoot. The directors, actors, actress, and all the members do not dare to shoot over there in the night.

If you want to visit this place then you can go on any day except Monday. The mill remains closed on Monday for some purposes. The timing for visiting Mukesh Mills is
6:00 Am to 6:00 Pm. People are not allowed to enter after the sunset.
